North York condo pools — and across the GTA

Private swim lessons at your own pool

No commute, no crowded change rooms, no waiting list. I bring 23 years of teaching to the pool you already have access to — starting with North York condo pools, and anywhere else in the GTA I can reach. One or two swimmers at a time, at the pace that actually works for them.

What I teach

Four kinds of lessons, one instructor

Every lesson is built around one swimmer and one goal. Whether that goal is putting a face in the water for the first time or shaving seconds off a front crawl, the plan is the same: work on what is actually holding you back.

Children

Swim lessons

Water confidence first, strokes second. Floating, breath control, submersion, and the safety skills that matter most — getting to the wall, rolling onto the back, calling for help.

Progress is measured against Lifesaving Society Swim for Life standards, so a swimmer moving into a municipal or school program lands in the right level.

Adults

Adult swim lessons

It is never too late, and you will not be the only adult I have taught from zero. Private lessons at a pool you already feel comfortable in remove the part most adults dread — learning in front of an audience.

We go at your pace: standing depth until it feels ordinary, then deep water when you decide you are ready.

All ages

Stroke improvement

For swimmers who can already get across the pool but know something is off — a breath that stalls the stroke, a kick from the knee, a catch that slips.

Front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly. Small corrections, drilled properly, then rebuilt into the full stroke before you leave the water.

Youth & adults

Certification prep

One-on-one coaching before or alongside your Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, or National Lifeguard course — timed swims, tows, carries, and the fitness standard that trips most candidates up.

I am a Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer and National Lifeguard Examiner, so you are preparing against the same standard you will be tested on. Awards are issued through a registered Lifesaving Society course, not through lessons.

How it works

From first message to first lesson

Four steps, and none of them involve a registration portal.

  1. Tell me about the swimmer

Age, what they can already do, what they are nervous about, and where the pool is. A few sentences is plenty.

  2. We check the pool

Depth, water temperature, and access decide what can be taught safely. I will say up front if a pool is not suitable for what you are hoping to work on.

  3. You pick a time, I bring a plan

A slot that fits your building's booking rules, plus what the first block of lessons will actually cover.

  4. We swim, and you see progress

Short notes after each lesson: what improved, what we are working on next, and what to practise before I am back.

Rates & booking

Simple pricing, nothing to sign up for

No packages, no membership, no registration portal. Book a single lesson or a block of them — whatever fits your schedule and your pool's availability.

$60 Per lesson One-on-one A single swimmer, undivided attention.
$80 Per lesson Two-to-one Two swimmers from the same family, taught together.

Send a short message about the swimmer, the pool, and the times that suit you. I will come back with the times I have open.

Rates apply in North York and nearby. Lessons further out in the GTA may carry a small travel adjustment — I will tell you the number before we book anything, never after.

Ask about availability

A minute to fill in, and I can answer with real times instead of questions.

Who is the lesson for? Add a card for each swimmer, up to four. The rate is worked out from how many you add.
What are the lessons for?
Pool address Where the lessons would happen — not your mailing address, if they differ.
When are you available? Pick the days, then the window that works on those days. Add another block if your week is not the same every day — the more you give me, the sooner I can find a slot.
Nervous in water, a deadline, pool depth or booking rules — anything helps.

What you send here is emailed to Johnny and used only to answer your enquiry. It is not stored on this website, shared, or added to any mailing list.
